Surface streets are better than the interstate.

Kings Avenue West and 24th off Kings Avenue West have the most dealers. Additionally there is a Hertz Car sales which is a pretty good deal.

Billings is actually laid out nicely for quick navigation to different sections of town. The are several throughways having little to no stop signs/signals to provide quick movement across town. For public transportation the MET bus does an adequate job. A monthly pass costs just $15. Unfortunately, on the west side of town they are experimenting with traffic control and have opted for traffic circles which have proven somewhat dangerous and ineffective.

Zimmerman trail. It traces along the rims of the city and is fast to travel from one end of town to another.

Be patient. Everyone drives as if they have nowhere to be. Aggressive drivers will get irritated very quickly.

The car dealers in Great Falls are all crooks. They will charge you way more than you should pay. Try Craigslist or go out of town.

I had to get to the airport in Great Falls by 5:30 AM and was running late. I got there really quickly because there was no traffic and most of the lights on 10th Ave S were still blinking instead of cycling.
