Great Family Car
The 2013 Chrysler Town and Country is a great family vehicle. As a mom of 3 kids under 3 I have found the Town and Country meets my needs. The ability to change seating arrangements as needed is a huge benefit. When out twins were born the captains chairs were used to accommodate the car seats. By keeping the third row seat down we were able to bring anything with us we needed when traveling. When the baby came, the car seats easily were accommodated in the back row and 1 captain's chair was used. Being able to fold away the extra chair still provided us the storage we need. On the other hand the car can fit 7 adults easily. The DVD player helps to make long rides manageable. The controls on the steering wheel make it easy to change the radio without losing focus on the road. The Uconnect is an asset as well for answering the phone. My main complaint is the in car navigation system, the directions are awful. I would recommend using an app.

Good van until 150,000 miles
I like the roominess of the vehicle. It allows me to separate my children from touching each other and that is a big bonus. I have the video package as well, which is a life saver on trips. However, within 30,000 miles, the data wire from the DVD to the monitor severed. I purchased one off Amazon and then I had to figure out how to install it with YouTube videos because the ship was going to charge over $200. Ridiculous. It took me about two hours to fix. The comfort level of the vehicle is nice. The all seats are good, and I like the stow-and-go feature of the van especially at Christmas time in hiding presents. The room we have for other storage options are great if we have to sink the seats down. The van rides comfortably but around 40 mph it has always had a rumble/hard transmission shift. And, at 150,000 the transmission busted and I had to get it replaced for $3700.00. Again, ridiculous. The sliding doors are a plus when they worked before 90,000 miles. Even when replacing the wires the doors do not automatically open and because of that the doors are tough for a ten year old to open and close (much less my younger children). It gets decent gas mileage. Mileage you'd expect for a six cylinder. AC has worked great up front but at about 120,000 the vents stopped working in the back. In Texas this is a nightmare but again shops want to charge a tone of money for this because they don't know the problem and yet they say is labor intensive. So, we pray the front four vents can cool the van quickly in 100-degree weather.
