Dependable long lasting with a few minor issues
I bought my Santa Fe because I needed an all wheel drive vehicle for winter in my area. It was purchased used. It has many more luxury features than I was originally looking for because it was a finished lease vehicle. I has amazing power and many people who have borrowed my car joke that it takes off like a jet engine. It is spacious and comfortable and seats four comfortably, five in a pinch. The car has over 100,000 miles on it and still performs fine for the most part. However it has had a couple recurring problems and the paint used on the mirror casing has started to strip off even though there is no discernible reason for this and it has not happened on any other parts of the car. Overall I would definitely be looking to buy another Hyundai after this one, though I might consider another model due to the size difference in the newer models

Overall pleased.
The car has been a good car overall. I would definitely say I got my money’s worth out of the vehicle, especially considering it was nearly ten years old when I bought it. The car was not perfect, but many of the problems fell within my extended warranty period. There have been a few big or costly repairs that I feel were due to poor quality or engineering on Hyundai’s part, but I suppose you find that, to some degree, with nearly all cars. The biggest of these problems was a bit of a mystery problem. By that I mean no one, not the mechanics or the dealerships (and has been to many for this particular problem) could diagnose the problem. It was actually a very dangerous issue that would cause the car to stall or die completely, usually on the highway, with absolutely no warning. It was an intermittent problem that made it even harder to diagnose. Eventually, I took a shot at having a part replaced because of the many similar complaints and situations I read about on the internet. It turned out to be right, but nobody could verify that this was what was causing the issue. Unfortunately this part malfunctions and has to be replaced every couple of years, But now, the repair is only a few hundred dollars, but initially it was very expensive because of all the paid hours of useless diagnostics. Now, once the problem starts I just immediately replace the part even if the mechanic does not think it is the problem. The new part always fixes it. I believe Hyundai is aware of the problem, but has chosen to ignore it. I bought a car for only $7900 that had 85,000 miles on it and now it has nearly 200,000 on it which is more than any car I’ve ever owned, and with regular maintenance I think this car has a lot of miles left on it.
