Great car of the price
Overall this has been a great and reliable car for us. At over 70,000 miles now we have never had to have any major work done. Only a few negatives I have to say about this car. First is that it is too small for our family of 4. With two car seats in the back there is no room for anyone else. However, the interior has proven to be rugged and has worn extremely well. Food and drinks spilled seem to just wipe right off the seat. Second negative is I have had a lot of problems with the back lights. Even after the issue was supposed to have been fixed through a recall, I've had to have the back lights replaced and/or fixed at least 6 times in only a few years. Not major but definitely a hassle. The car is smooth to ride in and handles well in all conditions and situations we find ourselves in. Fuel economy could be better but is average based on similar types of cars. I wouldn't say it's particularly stylish especially now that it's a few years old but it's a car; it gets us where we need to go. The V6 model does have some get-up-and-go but it can be a bit sluggish at times. The roof racks have come in handy recently with a few trips to Ikea. It was easier just to strap the oversized boxes onto the roof than to try to shove them in the inside since it's already a bit cramped. Comparing the inexpensive price of the car to the reliability and use we have gotten from the Sportage, I would recommend this car.

Good, basic but small SUV
I like that the Kia Sportage gets twenty-five miles per gallon. I like the look of the car and even though it is small, the seats fold down and large objects can be transported. The car had not had any major problems and I have put thirty thousand miles on it. The car handles well and the acceleration is very smooth. Overall the Kia Sportage is a good and safe SUV for a family on a budget.

Nothing special.
This car is just ok. The build is not as great as other cars I've owned. Since I've purchased this vehicle I keep having problems with the stabilizer links going bad & I've had to replace them numerous times. I also don't like that it has more blind spots than the pervious SUV I've owned, which was a Hyundai Santa Fe however, I do like the look of the vehicle. I had previously owned a Kia Spectra, which was a major factor in the purchase decision. Unfortunately, this Kia is less reliable than the Spectra but I do like that when you fold the seats down they are completely flat. In other SUVS when you fold the seats down there is usually a little hump. When it's completely flat it makes it easier to haul bigger items.
