Durable sedan
Don't let the small size and sporty features of the 2001 Saturn SL2 fool you. This vehicle is as hardy as they come. My Saturn is at just under 200,000 miles and has only recently begun to have problems with the radiator. All other parts are the originals save for anything that is supposed to be changed regularly (or as regularly as a college student could afford to change it). The body style is sleek and reminiscent of the fancier sports cars but with the price tag of a more modest sedan, and the ride is as smooth as they come. I've taken this car off-roading (no kidding!) and in places where some mid-size SUVs might have trouble, but the Saturn SL2 took it like a champ. The back seat is roomy enough to fit two large German Shepherd Dogs and our camping equipment fit snugly in the trunk. I recently had to upgrade to a larger SUV due to more dogs and I actually cried when I had to "retire" the Saturn to my garage. We still use it as a second vehicle occasionally, and I would purchase it again in a heartbeat if they still made them. If you happen to come across this vehicle at the used car market, purchase it! You won’t regret it. I highly recommend it. It is safe, reliable, and will get you where you need to go (and beyond).

Efficient Reliable Small
I like the car overall because it is small and fuel efficient, which is what I was looking for in the first place. It is the most base model of the car so it doesn't have power windows, seats, locks, mirrors or any fancy trim. It is just a utilitarian car that is mean to get from point A to point B. Any person who wants a car and doesn't care if it looks pretty would do well to buy this car.
