AWD van
In searching for a larger family car, I decided I wanted to stick with an AWD vehicle due to the variety of weather we get in the winter. I was torn between a few options, and then test drove the Sienna, and found it was the quietest drive of the bunch. It handled really well. I like the rear row fold down seats. It allows our current number of family members to sit comfortably and the children space to not get on each others nerves. I really like that part. The surprise I got was the window coverings in the back for the children, no more dealing with those suction cups to put the sun screens up for my baby. They're built in! Amazing. So far the vehicle has driven smoothly and has handled the snow pretty well. I really like the power doors as well for dropping the older kids off to school.

Reliable and affordable
My '99 Toyota Sienna has been extremely dependable. At 20 years of age, I still drive it cross country without hesitation. Other than normal wear and tear, I've never had any significant issues since buying it five years ago. What little maintenance is required is inexpensive, and the parts are easy to find. Being a minivan, it has lots of space inside, but it drives just like a car and far superior to most SUVs. It may not be sexy, but it does the job, and I don't have to make car payments! The acceleration leaves a lot to be desired, but not many people buy minivans for speed and power, so that isn't a big issue for me. One other minor complaint, however, is the door handles, and I mean all of them, interior and exterior, are either manufactured with brittle plastic or have design flaws, because I've had to replace almost all of them, several times each. That means not only were the factory original handles poor quality, but so were the Toyota brand and generic replacements. That boggles the mind. Seems like Toyota would have noticed and corrected that. Siennas are very common so I'm sure they were aware. That being said, I would rather have embarrassingly weak door handles and a weak motor than a poor transmission or faulty motor, so those are minor issues overall in my opinion. Other than those things, I highly recommend Toyota Siennas if you have a family and need a cheap used vehicle.

A Workhorse of a Minivan
I have owned this car for six years and have driven over 120,000 miles. The build quality is great. After all these miles, I have had no major mechanical, structural or technical problems. The interior has held up very well despite heavy use. I have had to move several households over these six years and the amount of furniture and boxes that can comfortably fit in this van is amazing. I can load the back like a moving van, but it feels like a sedan when I drive. It has a small turning radius and handles very well in small spaces. It is easy to parallel park. With the back seats out, I can fit whole sheets of drywall flat in the cargo area.

Low pressure. It did not feel like a typical dealership AT ALL.
