Nice Car
My husband and I bought our Taurus new from the dealer when we became grandparents for the first time. We had had a van while our own children were younger and had retired it once they were in high school to a sporty utility truck that we both drove.
I wasn't working so we really weren't a two vehicle family. But when my daughter became pregnant we knew we were going to be very hands on and active with our grandchild.
We purchased the vehicle in December with the grandbaby due in February.
It had everything we wanted. When we were all out and about it was just my husband and I and the grandbaby. We didn't need anything big but we did need something big enough for a car seat and to be comfortable for us all.
The car provided a smooth ride, which is essential when traveling with an infant.
Then we had a 2nd grandchild and had enough room for all four of us. If another one comes along we may just have to get a station wagon.

Great small family car.
The Ford Taurus that we own works great for our family. It is very good on gas mileage and dependability. We love that it can fit the three car seats that are required for our three small children in the back seat. Also, the trunk in this car is enormous. It is probably one of the biggest trunks I have ever encountered in a smaller sedan style car. We live in a very sunny climate and this car has received very little sun damage over the years and it has been parked outside daily in the sun exposure. It has performed greatly in our daily store trips and has done so in long extended out of town trips for us as well. The air conditioning and the heating system has not failed us once in providing exceptional comfort while driving in the hottest of summers or coldest of winters. This is an awesome car for our family and I could have not asked for more. The ride is smooth and comfortable as well as the seating.

Average car.
I liked the way it felt like I had something more solid under me when I test drove it. A couple of other cars in the same price range felt like the interiors was almost falling apart and they didn't feel as solidly built. This car had good engine power and I'd heard they were decent cars. So, we bought it, but the check engine light came on within a couple of days. When we took it back to the car dealer, they didn't locate the problem because they were actually a Volkswagen dealership, so we had to look elsewhere. The problem was not huge and got fixed, but then it started leaking oil. We got that fixed and then the air conditioning quit. This is a problem we've never managed to fix. We've taken it to three different places and spent too much money, but the air conditioning still doesn't work right. We've had numerous small problems with this car, as many as another one which is a Buick and in worse shape.
