2010 GMC Terrain OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Toledo, Ohio
Terrain has been a drain on finances.
I loved the size of the Terrain and its overall design; for a family vehicle, it was superb. It was phenomenal for a mid-sized family into sports. However, as it got into higher mileage, a vehicle that was always taken care of on a regular maintenance schedule became a constant drain on our finances.

Terrible terrain.
The 2010 GMC Terrain is very stylish with body curves and large headlights. It sits high enough to give you the feel of a truck. It has 4 doors with window guards and silver trim. The hatchback opens easily and gives access to a large space for storing things, as well as side plastic pockets big enough for carrying car supplies like coolants, oil bottles, gas can, etc. The interior is nicely designed yet not completely comfortable. There are also not many pockets for traveling accessories or places to put wallets, cigarettes, papers, pens, CDs, and other materials. The inside is very roomy though. The downside to why it would be given a bad rating is that the motor is way too small to try to pull such a large vehicle. Mine has a timing chain problem. Even after fixing it by professionals, the were still problems. The timing chain ate a hole in the side of the oil guard. While driving it gushed all of the oil out without knowledge of it happening. Thus a few blocks down the road the motor blew. The motor seized.

Smooth ride.
This is a nice mid sized SUV for myself and two kids. It has a good amount of pick up and go. I have had many compliments on how smooth of a ride it is and I feel it's a very effortless vehicle to drive. It typically gets 23 mpg mixed highway/city. We get a lot of use out of the back hatch area, the vehicle is easy to get in and out of, and plenty of legroom for everyone.
