A perfect, first "big girl" car.
My 2010 Kia Forte was my first ever "big girl" purchase. I bought the car in 2013 when it was about 13 years old, and my car had about 24,000 miles on it when it was first bought. Looking back, I know I made the best decision when buying this vehicle because of how many wonderful, easy years it has given me. I'm one of those people who feels "cursed" when it comes to cars; something always breaks, and I'm always out a lot of money. My Kia, other than a couple of minor hiccups, has been an extremely reliable vehicle. I have not had any major engine or transmission issues, and to this day, it runs smooth as if it is brand new. My Kia Forte is the perfect size. It's very roomy inside to accommodate four–five people comfortably, but it's not so big that I can still weave around downtown Charleston, SC without much hassle about squeezing through tight places. My Kia came complete with Bluetooth capabilities, which makes me feel rather princess-worthy. The voice control options are actually very accurate, and it recognizes my voice well. A major downfall of this car, however, is that it comes with a compass, but it does not come with a thermostat to tell me the temperature outside! With a car that has so many bells and whistles at a super affordable price, it's odd not to have that small luxury that even older, cheaper cars typically have. Overall though, my Kia has soldiered through some tough times, and I will drive her till the wheels fall off.

I like this car. It is cute. It is a sedan, I believe; therefore, it is not sporty looking. Therefore, it is very conservative car, nothing splashy. I especially like the color of the car, including the interior and exterior. It is roomy, four doors for easy access for family and friends. It is great on gas. It performs okay; it could be better. It does not have much get up and go. When you come to a stop and have to go up an incline, it takes its time, seemingly not in a hurry. You can try to go faster by pushing the accelerator, but it doesn't help much. The stereo system is okay. There is no navigation system. I can only charge my phone using the cigarette lighter adapter. There are no other receptacles for charging your electronics. The trunk is large enough to carry only two regular-sized luggage.

The dealership's sales staff was not too terribly pushy, but very helpful and kind. I was not made to feel that my budget was too low for their taste, and they did not try to up sell me on leasing a new vehicle, rather than buying a used vehicle.

The salespeople were excellent. They didn't rush out to overwhelm me when I got to the lot. Once I narrowed down what I was looking for they were eager to help me find the specific car that I wanted. They were very helpful in discussing various offers. They even had the managers demo pulled out from his personal space for me to drive. That is the car I ended up buying and it wasn't even for sale! Financing was also very well explained with no pressure and I didn't feel like I was being mislead.
