2008 Pontiac G6 OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Pretty, powerful, not practical
This vehicle is pretty, with great lines and curves. Unfortunately, those lines and curves add too many blind spots. The rear of the vehicle is raised, making backing up an adventure, as it is impossible to see what is behind you. The wide columns between the windshield and doors look good from the outside, but they can hide an entire oncoming vehicle at the right angle.
The V6 engine is powerful. This small car can power through snow drifts, between the engine and the traction control. This performance, however, comes with a price, which is paid at the gas pump.
The tire pressure sensors are a nice feature, and have come in handy after driving over numerous potholes hidden by snow.
Equipped with On-Star, for those who want to pay for the service.

Okay for a teen driver.
This was my first vehicle I ever purchased which was financed. I loved the interior look. The rounded vents were super cool for me. The rounded dash meters were also a huge plus. The interior lights are red, and I also found that to be different than any other car I had owned. I dislike how low to the ground this car sits. Driving my sister's van, I realized just how low this car actually sits. It also seems as if I can't see very well out of the front window due to the design of the windshield and the frame around it. I like the factory rims that came on it, and the design of the car is very slick. The traction control is a good thought but doesn't work well in this car. Getting around in the snow is next to impossible with the traction control on, which comes on automatically if it senses your tires are spinning out. The trunk has good space, and I like how it has the open button on the driver's side door. The vehicle performs well during the summer/spring months but is not ideal for winter months.

Great little car.
My Pontiac G6 was the second car I owned, and I bought it used. It was a great little car, and fun to drive. It was sporty, and got me where I needed to go. I had the four door because I wanted the extra space for passengers. It was very reliable and got really good gas mileage. I never had any issues with it, and I liked it that the back windows could roll all the way down without the child safety precaution of only allowing them to go part way. I also liked how big the trunk was, it could hold a lot, although the opening was a little small. There was an odd thing that started happening, but it might have been because the first year I had it I lived on a dirt road. The back doors would either stay locked, or unlocked, what ever you did manually. The key FOB didn't seem to work on them which did become frustrating. The other thing you had to watch for was dirt in the wheel wells. If there got too much in there the whole car would shimmy and shake the faster you got, but a good car wash and lots of spraying in the wheel wells to get them cleaned out worked just fine. I really did enjoy driving the car though, and although it had these issues, I found them minor and liked the car a lot. It also had a good sound system, and was comfortable to ride in.
