Scion XB - best car ever
Scion XB is made by its parent company, Toyota. It is a Toyota engine. One thing I have noticed about Toyota engines is that as long as you stick to the maintenance schedules, your car will run forever. I have owned the car for 11 years now and not had a single problem. The mileage is great. On average, I'm getting 38 mpg in city and around 40 mpg on the highway. It is a 4 cylinder, so it isn't going to win any speed competitions but it has enough get up and go to navigate steep roads in the mountains with no problem. The Scion XB doesn't look like every other car out there. So on top of having a reliable vehicle, you have a vehicle that you can spot within seconds in any parking lot. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten where I parked and just looked for the box on wheels. It looks like this little tiny car. You can fit it in any compact parking space with room to spare. It is huge inside! It seats 5 comfortably. And not just 5 small 5 foot tall people. My father is 6ft tall and even with the front seat all the way back, when he sits in the back seat he knees don't touch.

Good Entry-Level Vehicle
The 2005 Scion xB is a front-wheel drive "thing" alternatively classified as a hatchback, subcompact, or station wagon - it is not quite any of these things (though it does qualify as subcompact, the amount of interior room is much greater than any other subcompact). It features a very distinctive, boxy appearance.

Reliable First Car
This car is great if you're looking to keep it for several years and drive it many miles. The interior is, surprisingly, extremely spacious. As a college student, I have moved a lot in the time that I have owned the car, and have been able to haul all of my belongings when the rear seats are folded down! The electronics and lights inside have held up extremely well over time and most of the upholstery looks brand new, still. The car handles well and performs very well in snow. The insurance rate is low because the car is classified as a "wagon." The fuel economy is great. I have driven this car a lot, over 150,000 miles, and can usually drive very long distances (over 4 hours) on one tank of gas. The look of the car is unique and I get lots of compliments on it. With regular maintenance, I think I could keep this car for an additional 4 or 5 years. I have only had to replace the headlights one time (I've owned the car since 2009), and the battery once. The stock stereo system is great quality. The seats are very comfortable. The engine performs very well for being a 4 cylinder. This was my first car, and it has not let me down.
