2010 Subaru Outback OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

I would buy this car again.
I am a single mom of two girls and wanted a comfortable SUV or wagon with lots of room and bells and lots of comfort. This vehicle has great space in the back, and I can fit a fair amount of things in the back. The seats are roomy and comfortable. The gas mileage is decent, and I love many things about it like the lights when the car locks are turned on. I also love the lights by my feet at night, and they let off a pleasant blue light when the car is moving, but it is not distracting. When the car doors open at night, they let off a low light on the ground, which is great for puddles! The back seats have a fair amount of foot room, and my passengers always comment on how comfortable they are. I love the leather seats and how easily they are able to be cleaned. I can fit three rows of toddler car seats in the back, which takes up a fair amount of room, but that really says something about the room in the vehicle. I have a small 11 year old, and with three car seats in the rear, she is sitting up front with the driver. It is a comforting thing that the air bag is activated by weight and that my tiny 11-year-old girl can safely sit up front, and I don't have to worry about the airbag being unsafe if God forbid there was an accident.
The car can be loud at times but I know that is a common Subaru thing so I try and ignore it. I do love how the car handles and love that when I am going up a steep hill the accelerates like no other. I drive this car in the snow and I always feel so safe and trust the safety of the car.
I really love this car and I am incredibly happy I made the leap to purchase it. I would absolutely buy a newer model of this car when it is time to buy another,

Functional Yet Finicky
First of all, I didn't consider purchasing a used Subaru Outback before I went to the Subaru dealership. I was originally looking for used Subaru Forester. While I was at the dealership a salesman reviewed the features of the Outback, and encouraged me to take a used one on a test drive. After test driving used Foresters and used Outbacks, I decided on the Outback because I liked the way it handled on the highway. At the time of purchase, I was scheduled to do a lot of highway driving and would be hauling sports gear, dogs, and suitcases. I was very pleased with the amount of storage space we had for personal items, while still accommodating my two pets. Within one week of owning the used 2010 Subaru Outback, I experienced major issues with the front right tire pulling off to the right side while driving over 55 mph. The dealership where I purchased the vehicle conducted three mechanical inspections and had me pay for a Road Force Balance of all four tires. The Road Force Balance minimized the problem for about two weeks, but the problem was not resolved and returned. I took the car to another dealership and found out that I was fortunate to have purchased the top of the line warranty for the vehicle. It came in handy when the dealership recommended replacing very expensive parts connected to the front right tire.
