Great little car for long commutes
The strength of this vehicle is the low gasoline consumption and the reliability. This car sends a message that being environmentally conscious is important to you.

The psychological aspect ruins the fun drive
I purchased this 2014 Prius C used from a Rent-a-Car place. At the time of purchase, it had around 34,000 miles on it. Currently, at the time of this review, it sits at 55,000. The car serves its purpose as an EV for the long commute to work. That perhaps is its greatest benefit: it gets me to and from work with minimal expenditure in gas. However, there's a cost to this fuel efficiency. What's that you ask? Lack of power or oomph. My drive is mainly on highway stretches of road. Getting to a fast enough speed to merge or pass traffic can be tricky at times. It's a trade-off, but maybe one in hindsight may not be worth it. The quality of the car itself is decent. Clearly plastic like everything else on the road today. Part of the front end is coming off. The interior is stock and vanilla gray. Not enticing. I've experienced no problems with the electronics or battery powered engine. I did have one little issue with the check engine light and tire gauge lights popping on after multiple trips to the mechanic. I was able to fix these problems myself. Overall, I'm in the middle. I'm not overjoyed with my purchase, and I'm not soured by it. Having said that, I don't think I'd recommend the Prius C to anyone.

Best Car I've Owned
Toyota has always been known as a top vehicle manufacturer. The Prius C was a great choice for me because I knew it would last forever and the cost to own would be less than a non hybrid vehicle. I love how all service is covered for the first 25,000 miles. It uses synthetic oil and regular gasoline. The battery has an amazing warranty as well. I bought the first model of the Prius C so it has Bluetooth connection and power windows. The only thing it is really missing would be cruise control which you can get in the more expensive Prius C models. I have put 36,000 miles on it since November 1st, 2014. My gas mileage has stayed around 48-55 mpg the whole time. In the winter is when you get the lower gas mileage. In the summer, you get the higher end of the gas mileage. The engine is small so getting up a steep hill can feel like a drag but besides that, it runs amazing and I haven't had any issues at all. It is a very low maintenance vehicle which I love. I have spent around $1,600 total in gas to go 36,000 miles. My husband has spent $2,900 to go 36,000 miles in his 2011 Honda Civic 4 door. So it has saved us a lot of money! Also, I get at least 380 miles to a tank of gas which is about 8 gallons of gas before my empty light comes on.
