2008 Toyota Sienna OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Fabulous Family Van
The Toyota Sienna has been a fantastic car for us. There is room in the car for seven people in total. Each seat has plenty of floor space and elbow room. This particular model has only one door that is automatic. Having four children and countless friends in and out of the van, this door has been an issue. Children exiting the car never know if they have to close the door themselves or if the door will automatically close. This has been one of the few problems, so far. Other than the door issue, the car looks great, gets great gas mileage, and has held up well with four teenagers and handles very well. The car we chose is gray with gray cloth interior so it is easy to clean (but most of the dirt can't be seen with the gray color). The heat and air conditioning are both fantastic and quickly heat/cool the car. We have the version with the vents in the rear which really help to cool/heat the rear of the car. Other vans we previously had did not cool/heat the rear as well due to the absence of these vents. We have had no issues with the engine thus far, and have driven over 50,000 since buying the vehicle almost six years ago. Overall, this was a great decision and we have found this Toyota a reliable workhorse.

Toyota scores a grand slam with the 2008 Sienna
The Toyota Sienna is a mid-priced vehicle with excellent accommodations for families. We have the LE edition and have found it to be exceptionally reliable over the last 10 years with only a few minor issues. The greatest benefit is that it fits a family of seven very comfortably. The most obnoxious part of the ownership is that every Sienna of this vintage seems to lose its factory hubcaps. Positive aspects include a large number of cup holders, spacious seating for long car rides and a general towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. with appropriate hitch attachment. On the service side, our issues have included a VVTI valve failure, which was covered under warranty and a bearing failure in the wheel that caused an obnoxious squeal when making left turns. The six-disc changer has also deteriorated, but after ten years of use, I don't consider that a major failure.
Overall, this car has met the need that it was designed for and provides us a reliable transport for my family. It has been an asset for long road trips and local grocery hauling. I cannot fault this model and would certainly consider purchasing a newer version.
