Well built SUV
The Dodge Caliber drives well and is sharp looking while still being comfortable to sit in or drive. The vehicle is well built, and hasn't had any problems or repairs I didn't expect. I've only maintained the car for the last 4 plus years and am surprised at the quality in most aspects of the car. I've had the car over 4 years, put 39,000 miles on it, and have been very pleasantly surprised at the quality workmanship and lack of repairs. I sold my Dodge Caravan after 4 years due to the amount of money I had to continually put in it and was seriously concerned about buying another Dodge. The Caliber has changed my mind concerning Dodge and its products. I wish it had more window area to see the traffic around me and better gas mileage. All in all though, I'm very happy with this purchase and am shocked at how well I like the vehicle and the quality.

Great car
Overall, this car is great. This is actually the second Dodge Caliber that I have owned, and only because the previous one was totaled by an oncoming car. It sits higher up than most cars do, which makes it way more versatile than a normal car. I was able to take it off-roading in Colorado (both calibers), and it worked pretty well. It's still front-wheel drive, so it's not quite as hardy when you are actually off-roading or using it on an icy road, but the clearance you can get is good. You just need to go slowly, so you don't do any damage of course. I love that it is a hatchback as well because of all the room! I have two kayaks, about 7.5-8 feet each, and when I place the back seats and the front passenger seat down, I can fit both of them on top of each other. It's definitely difficult to see to the right, but it works when you have no other way of transporting them. There is a hitch that you can purchase, and I have, but due to shop error it was never put on correctly. I'm sure once this is rectified, I will be quite happy with it. As for putting something on top, I know that it is a possibility but it is a bit expensive. There are no bars, which isn't surprising as it's not technically an SUV or crossover, but they would have been nice so I wouldn't have to pay extra to install them. Otherwise, the inside is the "bucket" seats I believe- very comfortable for me, and I do have heated seats installed after purchasing. I would like for them to bring this car back and include the blow up back support like I have used in other cars (I have lumbar issues) and I really want better gas mileage. I get about 25-28 highway and 20-24 in town, depending on how aggressively I drive. My old caliber had Bluetooth, heated seats, a neat stereo thing in the back, and a few other cool things, but not the newer one I purchased. I do wish this one had Bluetooth, but an aux cable has been ok while I have had it. I think overall 9/10 love this car, but I really do want a crossover in the future- it seems like the most logical next step.
