The Dodge Neon is a great little car
My Dodge Neon has been a very reliable car. It's sporty looking and has a good number of options. I've had very little trouble with it over the years. I intend to keep it as long as I can.

Save your money! Buy with caution!
So I got the car brand new off the lot. It had never been preowned. I got it rock stock. I didn't put any after market gadgets on it. It gave me trouble right from the beginning. The electronic dash cluster was faulty, but the dealership repaired it for me free, but with much effort on my end. The battery was also faulty, and the tires/wheel package was lackluster.

American car manufactures need to try harder
I like that the paint and the interior have held up over time. I dislike that the car is very basic - there's only automatic windows for the front windows. The car is inferior to another non-American car I owned previously in terms of functionality. The car has held up for 127,000 miles, but I'm doubtful it will last longer. Even though the car has been well cared for, it rattles, so I don't think the structural integrity is as good as it could be. I do, however, like that it seems mostly reliable, but repairs at this point would be too expensive to be worth it. The air conditioner no longer works and requires a major removal of the dashboard to repair the problem (not a simple recharge). The heater works fine. The car handles reasonably well. It's probably okay for a lower-priced car that you don't plan to drive for long.
