This A6 with the 4.2 liter engine and S rims has the wide body kit and European style minimal spoiler lip, looks as attractive now as it did when it was new eighteen years ago. The interior is classic as well, with huge amounts of space including fold down rear seats to haul as much as you could need to except for furniture, including a bag in the center above the armrest long enough to put a few pairs of long Alpine style skis through the center of the cockpit from the trunk without all the melted snow getting inside. Unfortunately, because of the design, you need to purchase an entire set of rims and snow tires to go to the mountains when it snows or there is snow and ice on the roads because snow chains are required by California Highway Patrol, and they somehow will not fit around the tires stock. Also, one of the trunk lights had to be removed because of electrical system design incompetence, so not only does it look odd from behind at night, but in some states you may be pulled over by law enforcement where legally all lights must be working, necessary or not. The sunroof came apart, buttons easily broke, window track and many other things had to be replaced including the catalytic converter, which was under warranty but the dealership installed it incorrectly so it burned a hole in the HVAC system. Now, every time it rains or goes through the wash, it gets the AC compressor wet and frozen or something so that the car thinks it's freezing and refuses to cool the cabin as there is no thermostat override. Also, water gets all over the floor of the copilot side.

AWD twin turbo fun
Overall, I actually loved this car more than most of the ones I have owned. Comfortable, fun to drive, and decent gas millage even if you are heavy on the right pedal.
Audi’s A6 gets a complete redesign for 2019. While the exterior looks much like the outgoing model, an industry-leading interior more than takes up the slack, and a hearty turbo V6 keeps things interesting.
