A poorly designed vehicle.
Overall, this car was spacious, and for most of its life, it has gotten the job done. I purchased this 2003 Sebring for $5,000 with 120,000 miles on it, most of which were highway miles. The front-wheel drive was convenient in the winter, especially considering the lack of ABS brakes. There were many small aspects that made the car difficult to deal with, whether it be the fact that some of the plastic pieces, such as the handle on the door, vibrated quite easily from music being played, or that the headlight has to be removed to access the battery. The horn was hilariously high pitched and weak sounding, which was entertaining, but could be annoying for some people. Sebrings aren't known for their performance, and this car held up that reputation. I haven't won any drag races, but I also haven't struggled to get up to speed on the highway. Anything above 85-90 starts to feel unsafe, but most highways don't allow that anyway.

I got duped
I was completely misled on this car. The outside of the car looked okay and there was only a slight crack on the upper right hand corner. The paint job looked okay and there were few scratches. I opened up the hood and the engine looked clean. I took the car on a test drive and then over to AutoZone to have the car tested to see if any codes would come up. That was good as well. They wanted $2,400 but I talked them down to $2,100. Here's the problem - Number one, the gas tank was separated from the body of the car. Who thinks to look there? Not me! Great. Secondly, both the air compressor and radiator had small holes in them. Not enough to code, mind you, but enough for them to leak and eventually stop working correctly. How did I find out? Driving from New Mexico to Arizona and having my car overheat half way there! Even with a mechanic who was a friend, it was over $600 for parts and labor. The tires were also bald so I had to buy 4 used tires for the trip.

Sporty little workhorse
The car is a convertible with a fabric top which can automatically open up and close even when the car is in Drive. It has over 100,000 miles on it and it's still going. It cruises nicely and when the top is down on a nice day I still get envious looks even though the car by now shows its age. It has 2 doors that open wide with reflectors so other drivers can see them even when parking at night. I've had this car for 10 years and it has seen many road trips with little incident.
