Old car but very reliable
The pros on the car is that it is really great on gas. I can fill it up for $30. It has good miles for being a old car. I drove it over six hours one way and had no problems. I have only had to change the brakes and the fuel pump, but once again, it is a 17-year-old car. The air conditioning works great. I also changed the brake plugs, but that was only a $10 thing. The cons would be that it is very big, and at any time, it could potentially break down.

So cute
The design of this car is adorable. It's great for puttering around the town I live in. But not really good for long distances. Mostly because it gets quite uncomfortable sitting for a long period of time. Other than that, it drives pretty smooth, and the design in the interior leaves a lot of leg room for the passengers. The exterior is very cute. For some reason, it always reminded me of a bunny. I did have some problems with the windshield wipers though. I am not sure if it was a bad set of blades or if it was the tilt of the windshield itself , but the windows would always smear when I used them to clean off the rain or snow... or any kind of liquid that got on there.

Durable but outdated
I am still driving a 2001 Dodge Neon. The fact that I am still driving a 14 year old car tells you what I like best about it: It can keep chugging along for a long time. Also, it was a very affordable car, which I appreciated, when I needed to purchase a car on a graduate student salary. I am not a car expert, so I can't say anything too sophisticated about performance. I can say that the car seemed to struggle a bit when going up hills, and I felt that at times other cars were flying past me. Otherwise, though, it is an easy car to drive, with automatic transmission, and intuitive controls and dashboard displays. The fuel economy is reasonable, since it is a small car. The interior is comfortable, if not especially stylish. The trunk is decently sized -- I have carried out a number apartment moves with a lot of my stuff packed into that trunk -- and there are panels in the backseat that can fold inward, allowing for greater trunk space.
