Decent starter car
I bought this car used, but it had been well taken care of. I've owned it for about ten years, so it's at the end of its lifespan and it's falling apart. When I initially bought it, it ran fine, although the performance was mediocre. The Dodge Neon is a very lightweight car, so it's great on gas. Unfortunately, I live in a wintry climate, and it handles snowy and icy conditions very poorly. I prefer not to drive at all when we get snowstorms, because it slides all over the road.

Good motor around a plastic car.
The Dodge Neon is a car built of disposable parts. There's plastic built into the weirdest places, and the car drives and handles like a house cat on a leash. It's underpowered and underperforming. Despite that, it's kept on chugging through years of abuse and neglect. It's made it up and down icy roads in the winter, survived worn axle rods, who knows how many miles, and multiple owners despite feeling as flimsy as a dollar store toy.

Great Daily Driver
The Dodge Neon gets great gas mileage as most four cylinder vehicles, but the 2.0 Liter engine makes it fun and fast to drive. I have the automatic model and would think the manual drive Dodge would have been a better buy. I've driven this car to work everyday for the last five years with almost perfect success. With regular maintenance, the car should last well into the 300,000+ miles. It's one of the best commuter cars I've owned. The car also has a sleek design, looks way better than, lets say, a Prius.
