Great car for a spirited driver
The 1989 Nissan 240sx, better known by it's chassis code "s13", is a great car for those who love to drive. In my opinion, it is one of the greatest rear-wheel drive cars of its time. This car has exceptional balance and weight distribution, and when combined with the fact that it is rear-wheel drive, that makes this an exceptional car for a spirited driver. The build quality is exceptional and the drive-train is reliable. The styling of the car is phenomenal, and the body lines give it a sporty yet sophisticated look. The interior is phenomenally designed, with the exception that it does not have cup holders. The seats are comfortable, and the automatic seat belts are convenient. This car also gets pretty good miles per gallon, despite it being a fairly old vehicle. Something notable about this vehicle is that it is a great chassis to build into a full-blown drift car. It is one of the most used chassis for drifting of all time due to its weight distribution and balance, aftermarket support for suspension and other components, style, and the fact that it is rear-wheel drive.

Exhilarating and fun to drive.
The 240SX is a fantastic car, although not without compromise. Build quality is not the greatest, with my personal dashboard cracking, the o2 sensor going out, and various electrical problems. But for the 240SX, these issues are worth it. The car grips when you want it to grip, it slides when you want it to slide. The styling of the car is timeless, like the pop-up headlights and the pig-nose front bumper. The engine, the KA24DE, is enough power to get up to highway speeds and more. The ride is smooth—given how long ago it was made, and it handles like it is on rails. Another major annoyance is that the rubber trim around the truck has began to rot so water seeps in through the trunk. The overall quality is subpar, although the car's handing properties make it an absolute blast to drive. The transmission shifts smoothly. I only have had to put transmission fluid in it once since I purchased it two years ago. If I had the choice, I would definitely get another 240SX for my next car. Parts are usually easy to find and cheap, so when something breaks, it's not the end of the world.

Sporty looking car
The Nissan 240SX is a sporty looking car. The first generation model is available in a variety of configurations including hatchback with moon roof, full convertible, and coupe. In addition to its sporty look, it also is available with a five speed manual transmission and 2.4L engine. While the engine is a bit under powered to be considered a true sports car, the 240SX handles like a true sports car with its rear-while drive and four-way steering. The intention of being a sport vehicle extends to the interior, which can accommodate four occupants, although the rear passenger seat does feel cramped. The front driver and passenger seat do their job well to keep their passengers in place when taking tight corners. The car was originally available with a stereo package equipped with a AM/FM radio and tape player which are fed to a Bose surround sound speaker system. All in all, the 240SX is a sports car that is of sports car breed, but that ultimately came to the U.S. Market under powered and lacking its Japanese domestic model's turbocharged engine.
