It will do.
The Saturn Vue has many wonderful qualities for a used vehicle. The layout of the interior is ample, and you never feel cramped even with a full car of passengers and luggage. I love the sunroof and the middle console window controls. It has a wonderful stereo system and interesting speaker placement. The trunk comes fitted with tons of tools for camping, working, or lounging. This Saturn Vue does well off road and very easy to control. The exterior is sleek and stylish. It may look good, but the exterior is mostly great because it is plastic. This may seem like a negative, but it deters dents and rust, and, so far, has held up to the test of time. The wheels are not the most expensive on the market either. No special sizes or brands needed. As with most used cars, I have spent tremendous amounts of time and money keeping the engine running. It seems as though the parts do sometimes outlive their life expectancy however. The inside mirrors were very cheap and flimsy and broke off one of the first few times I used them. There is no room for a spare tire except under the car. The air conditioning has never worked, and the problem can never be found. This car has a bad resale value and shouldn't be bought for eventual trade in. Overall, this car is a great choice unless you plan on putting a lot of miles on it all at once, and if you're not looking for a project. Being a GM vehicle, if you accept the challenge, parts are relatively inexpensive.

My 2002 manual Saturn Vue isn't the most luxury car I've ever driven. With it's bare necessity features, cloth seats and sub par speaker system, it says more "broke soccer mom" than "high-class mom car." I've had problems with the ignition from the day I bought it. For some reason, the ignition "eats" the key. I ran into this problem about six weeks after I purchased the vehicle, as I was on my way to get the kids to their out-of-district bus stop. The key got stuck in the car, and although I was able to retrieve it, it became evident that key was completely stripped out of all that makes a key a key, and it would no longer work. Luckily, it was replaced under warranty, and the fix cost me exactly $0!!!
