I’ve always liked Slug Bugs. Having one was my dream car since I was in middle school, and then I finally got one. I’m not a car girl: I don’t care about specs or speed; I want my car to be safe and work. The fact the car is awesome looking is the added bonus. I’ve had problems with it about once a year, mostly electrical. But it goes when I tell it to go, and gets me where I need to go.

This car is very reliable, which is a good thing because when something does go wrong, it's very expensive to replace. That being said, it rarely happens. Gas mileage is acceptable and it's roomier than you'd expect. All in all, a good car for the price.

I had always dreamed of owning a convertible, especially a VW Bug. In my mid-40s, I bought one. It is salsa red with a black top and black interior. It is like a mini-vacation each time I drive with the top down. I have owned the car for over six years and love most everything about it except the gas mileage and the electronic sensors. Mechanically, the car has held up well. It now has over 100,000 miles on it and is still going strong.
