Good Economy Car with Excellent Fuel Efficiency
My Hyundai Accent, in addition to being an economical purchase, is extremely fuel efficient. The parts are really inexpensive and easy to replace when they need to be replaced, and maintenance is pretty easy. The only problem is that some of the cosmetic parts are badly-made, for example the exterior plastic door handles eventually all just pop off from years of use. This seems to be a flaw in all the Accents that I've seen, though.

Cheap, that's about it.
My 2004 Hyundai Accent is the base model with the 1.6L engine and four-speed automatic transmission. It was extremely cheap to purchase compared to other brands, and the gas mileage was fantastic at that price point (30mpg combined). Anyway, I have had serious issues with the car since purchase in 2004, and the only reason I still have it is because I've put enough money into it that it is just a back-up car as I upgraded. The 1.6L makes barely 100 horsepower, and you can notice that as you drive, the throttle is sluggish and driving uphill you will always be going under the speed limit. I'm not a speed racer, but when you're constantly getting passed by people in Prius' or Corollas, you know there might be a problem. On top of all of this, I went through two head gaskets with this car. Both were warrantied, but I have never overheated. It was very odd, and the technicians couldn't figure out why the head gasket failed. The interior is basic, cloth everything, manual everything. A/C is the only amenity. The car is extremely light, and you can either see that as a pro or con. It seems every storm that rolls through has the power to rock the car back and forth. Also, the build quality of the car is pretty lacking. It seems the entire car would have been made of hard plastic if they had the choice.
