2009 Hyundai Elantra OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Good, but not amazing.
When I first got the car I was incredibly excited. Every aspect of it seemed perfect to me. It was my first car and it was all I could ask for. I love this car. There are only a few features of it I do not like, and can be improved upon. The color, for starters, but that doesn't matter that much. The car is incredibly reliable. It has not broken down once in the 12,000 miles I've driven with it. The braking is good, not spectacular. The acceleration is very average. The gas pedal is a little wonky, though. Lightly pressing on the gas pedal will cause the car to not move much, however after a certain threshold the car accelerates a lot faster. Minute turns of the steering wheel don't affect the direction of the car, but bigger degrees of turning the wheel are okay, so steering is pretty good. The gas mileage is pretty decent, too.

Nice, reliable car
I purchased my 2009 Hyundai Elantra new as my first car right out of college. There are a lot of features that I like about the vehicle including the roominess, great price, nice gas mileage and reliability. I have not had any major problems with the vehicle in the 7+ years I've had it. There really isn't much that I dislike about the vehicle. If I have to pick something to make it better, I would like a bigger gas tank. I would also like for it to handle a little better in the snow, but since it doesn't have AWD or 4WD I know that there's only so much that can be done. Another MINOR thing that I wish was different is that the sunglasses holder was bigger. Big, stylish sunglasses don't fit in the fold away holder. I would also like if it had power seat adjustment controls. The vehicle performs well in non-winter conditions but as I stated previously, it's not the best in the snow.
