It's very dependable
I loved my 99' Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It was a very clean Jeep and I love how the bottom trim which was a plastic material helped cut in the body details of the Jeep. It was a bright Fire hydrant red and the plastic trim along the bottom was black before the color started to fade. It was dependable and the engine had a 186,000 miles on it before I sold it. I changed the oil regularly which I think helped make the engine last so long but the engine never made noise it was dependable.

Great Car, but Gets Expensive
This car has been great in terms of being a vehicle that gets you where you need to go without much hassle. It has a very good turning radius, is very sturdy and stable, handles accelerated turns well, and is overall a comfortable and functional car. However, being as it is a '99, it is now getting quite old and is acting up a decent amount. For example, the key occasionally gets stuck in the cylinder; the car sometimes will accelerate too quickly for the amount that the gas pedal is pressed; the rear gears grind whenever one is not pressing the gas pedal (a $1200 fix); for awhile the AC didn't work too well, etc. Because of these kinks (I call them kinks because the car is still quite drivable) if I were to completely service the car and fix everything completely, it would cost about $5000. Of course, for a car this old, it is almost not worth investing the money and instead buying a newer car that runs well and doesn't cost too much. However, for all the years I've owned it, it's run very well despite some of its problems, and as such is a good car for teenagers (safe, sturdy, always runs) and people who are not looking for a luxury car or sports car.
