2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Jeep owner for life
I bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee used for only $8000, about four years ago. It had 119,000 miles, and was my first ‘nice’ car. I had looked at a couple of other cars in my price range, but fell in love with my Jeep the instant I saw it. It’s an LE, so it has a leather interior and all the bells and whistles that were ‘fancy’ back in 2002 – a console with mileage metrics, cruise control, and a sun roof!
Since I bought it, I’ve put nearly 60,000 miles on, with only the expected maintenance repairs. It’s reliable, comfortable, and has made me a complete Jeep convert! I can’t imagine driving a smaller car, knowing the comfort of a Jeep. Similarly, I would not want the hassle of driving a bigger SUV (like an Escalade or a Yukon) – I enjoy having a smaller SUV which is more versatile and doesn’t present the parking and maneuverability challenges of a larger SUV.
I hope to drive my current Jeep for another few years, and will then almost certainly purchase another vehicle from the Jeep family.

Great vehicle
I have had this Jeep since 2006, when it was purchased with around 50,000 miles on it. Nothing catastrophic has ever gone wrong with the vehicle and now it has 193,000 miles on it and I drive it roughly 50 miles a day to get to work and back home. The only thing I have ever had to replace are a few sensors, tires and all the other basic up keep with any vehicle you would typically expect. I love the overland trim because all of the engine internals are hardened from the factory for longevity along with an upgraded transfer case and axles. The award winning Quadra Drive all wheel drive system has never had me stuck in the winter or in the rain. Even with all season street tires this truck would get out of just about anything. Other than the few items that you would expect to go out in a vehicle with almost 200,000 miles on it, this Jeep has been a great vehicle and should have many more miles to come with proper care.

Rugged SUV
My vehicle seats five but does not feel crowded when full. It also has cargo space while seating five. The seats are cloth but easy to clean. They withstand a lot of dirt from kids and pets. The vehicle withstands everyday wear and tear nicely. There is a center console to store coins and charging cords. It is a SUV but not too large that I feel anxious driving and maneuvering through traffic.
