2012 Toyota Yaris OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Reliable, fuel efficient car
Before owning this 2012, 4-door Toyota Yaris, I owned a 2008 2-door Yaris. I have very little complaints regarding either one. I currently have 45,000 miles on my 2012 and have not had any complications with the engine, noises, A/C... nothing. The interior of the car would be the only thing to complain about. The seats are fabric and light grey, which show spots or stains readily and easily. Accessibility into the car is simple, with an electronic key with alarm capabilities.
Before becoming a Toyota owner I had a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, and while the interior was nice in comparison to my Yaris it doesn't come close in comparing to the amount of money I save on upkeep and gas expenses. I have driven my Yaris across country two times and was pretty happy with the experience. The back seats lay flat and the car is a hatchback, so I was able to fit my entire life into my car. Even if I'm not moving across country, I can fit my bike into the back of the tiny car and drive it to a friend's house!

Extremely reliable
Over the years of ownership (over five in total), I have been very pleased with the purchase and this vehicle. It has held up well and is extremely reliable. During these years, I have not have to perform any maintenance on the car other than normal wear-and-tear such as oil changes and brakes. It is nice to have such trust and peace of mind because of your personal vehicle. The gas mileage is wonderful, especially on long trips. There have been weekend drives where I expected to fill up numerous times, but only filled up once! It's small size is a little uncomfortable at times, especially during inclement weather, but the positives of the vehicle outweigh the negatives. What more could I ask for?

Simple, economical, nice
Overall, my vehicle is very simple and easy to use. It's a basic model. I like that it gets really good gas mileage. I don't like that it doesn't have some features, and I wish it did, such as like keypad entry or keyless start button. It is an older model where that was more of a luxury. Newer cars have that even on basic models. I haven't had any mechanical issues, although I've had to replace multiple tires, so I don't know if that's necessarily a car thing or just my luck thing. It's a black car, but it's a hard color to fix if there are scratches. I've had to pay extra for that, but overall, I like the car.
