ItÕs a hate/love relationship.
In July of 2012 I purchased a used white 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SEL. Upon purchasing my Jetta, I was beyond excited. I truly fell in love with it right off the bat. My first overall impression of the interior and exterior views was nothing short of phenomenal. Despite purchasing the car used at around 27,000 miles, the appearance and maintenance said otherwise. You truly would think it was brand new. I chose the SEL model over the basic model because of the black leather interior, black leather seats, a more detailed sleek interior, alloy rims, and a moonroof. Now one may think these are only minor upgrades sort of speak, but they really enhanced the interior and exterior like no other. I truly felt I was purchasing a luxury car. Also, the Alloy rims really enhanced the exterior appearance as well. All in all, I loved the black leather seats and interior, the moon roof, alloy rims, and the overall sleek appearance of both the interior and exterior. Not to mention, you canÕt beat a German motor. Again, I have to say I did feel as if I was purchasing a luxury car. Still to this day, I love my car and would like to purchase a newer model Jetta or newer model Passat in the near future. However, I do have my reservations. Why? Well, hereÕs the kicker. After having my car for a mere year and a half, things started to go south real quick. At first I was very confused as to why because I wasnÕt traveling for work or classes. Within a year and a half, my air conditioning went out, and my radio. Again, I only had my car for a year and a half. With that being said, we had to replace the air conditioning system, as well as a whole new radio. As a side note, neither was covered under warranty. I was so taken back by everything as I wasnÕt traveling, wasnÕt driving my car rough, and always kept up to date on all oil changes and so forth. We decided to have the air conditioning system replaced my a family mechanic as the dealership wanted to charge double, and I went to a car audio shop and had a new radio installed. Both of which were heavy expenses. Nothing major occurred afterwards, but the interior started to deteriorate rapidly by 2014 and as of about early 2018 the paint has started to form those gray spiral circles on the side of my car. It looks like someone would have taken either some sort of skinny blade and made perfect circles. In 2014, on both of the leather back seats the sort of mini arm rest where you open the door from the inside the leather has started to come up. It is like someone tried to peel the leather off. HereÕs the thing, hardly anyone rides in my backseat. Just by looking at it itÕs obvious itÕs coming off on its own. In 2014 as well, my factor tint began to scrunch up from the bottom. Again it looks like someone tried to pull off the tint from underneath the window. This is factory tint I will note. Lastly the most upsetting part began to happen in 2014 as well. My driver seat began to crack now it has completely fallen apart that you would think a dog chewed it up. Unfortunately I havenÕt been in a position to replace the seat due to paying for classes out of pocket but I do intend to along with new tint in the next 2-3 months. Now most of this may seem a bit excessive to mention. However, I feel all of this is important because I want others to be cautious not to make the same mistake I made. It came to the conclusion through not only our family mechanic but a handful of other auto technicians/mechanics my car was a lemon. After doing extensive research I discovered Volkswagen Jettas assembled in Mexico were in fact not assembled properly. Essentially they were lemons. If you are considering a Volkswagen I would recommend it without a doubt just be sure to do your research as to where it was assembled and so forth. The consequences of ending up with a lemon car will impact your checkbook like no other.

We were shopping around for a car for a while and Ed Carroll didn't put any pressure on us to buy at any point. The first time we were in the sales staff took the time to make sure they knew what we were looking for and took us for a test drive that showed many of the features of the Tiguan. The demonstrated the acceleration, stopping power, different driving gears, and handling. We weren't ready to buy the first time that we were in, but a few months later I received an e-mail stating that they were looking to move some inventory and would be able to lower the price more than the first quote they gave us. Even then the 2nd time we were in there was no pressure to make a decision.

This dealership was not our first choice to buy a vehicle from, because of the run down area it is located in, but their selection of used cars is unparalleled. The dealership was fair, though it took a couple hours to talk down the salesman to a reasonable price for a car. Even though it was a battle, they were pleasant to deal with and had everything easily set up for paperwork. I like this dealership because of the lack of formality. It seems like a dealership that is happy to involve the whole family in the buying process. They also are very free towards test drives. I highly recommend this dealership.
