When the transmission went out in my mini-van, I knew I was in the market for a new car. I focused my search on compact cars with good reviews and great gas mileage. In the end I purchased a 2012 Chevy Sonic. I am extremely happy with my new little ride. The body and trim style is sporty, featuring "motorcycle" style headlights. This style continues to the interior in the two-tone dash and retro-look gauges. At first I wasn't crazy about the black interior, but once I noted the cloth upholstery, I no longer worried about sizzling seats in the summer! I have cranked up the stereo several times and love the sound quality. In addition, the convenient volume and search controls on the steering wheel let me keep my focus on the road. The six-speed automatic seems to hesitate just a tad in second gear, but there is plenty of pick-up power when I'm merging onto the interstate or passing someone. So far the gas mileage has been just under thirty mpg, a 100% increase over my previous vehicle. Finally, the trunk is HUGE for a compact. Plenty of room for a dead body! Overall I'm very happy with my Super Sonic!

At over 100,000 miles, this car has proven to be a very reliable work commute car. A 30 minute trip to work, a 30 minute trip home, and the possibility of a short trip here and there throughout the day and this car is solid. It get very good gas mileage. I generally only fill the 13 gallon tank once per week. Other than the standard 3 months or 3,000 mile oil change, this car requires very little maintenance. It is a small sized car and space is a little cramped but I do manage to fit a baby seat in the back with little problem. The front passenger will suffer minor loss of leg room when the baby seat is in place but not to a great extent. Speaking of child seats, this car comes equipped with mount hooks that most car seats support. It supports multiple airbags for all-side impact protection. For the typical family man wanting to save money and not wanting to be flashy this car is perfect. I would definitely purchase the newer model of this car in the future and I would be very happy with it as well. The wife loves it for its safety and I love it for its high gas mileage.

I enjoy the maneuverability and handling of the vehicle. It is an easy ride on the road and a very smooth ride. Wonderful gas mileage, especially for someone like me who takes long trips up and down California. The sound system could be better but it's still not bad. If you wanted to replace the stock sound system, I suggest Bose system as a good recommendation with this vehicle. The space can seem cozy if you have a full group of passengers, but other than that the space and size of the vehicle works out fine for someone like me. All in all, a four-star ride!
