My Durango is an older model. Red. Its very roomy, has 4 wheel drive. I love how big it is and 4 doors as well as the hatch back trunk, lots of storage space. I am not to fond of how fast it burns through gas, I get about 16 miles to the gallon, but it is very dependable. I have owned it for 3 years, never had to put it in the shop for much. I had to replace some parts in the trans but it was very minor, either then that it has only required regular tune up. The past couple years through the snow and ice, I have never gotten stuck, just put it in 4 wheel drive, while others are getting stuck and spinning out, I didn't. My sons car seat fits nice and tight in the middle of the back seat and the child safety on the windows is great. I love driving my truck and when I have to I will get another one just like it.

I really like this vehicle because it has the space, style, and speed I need in an SUV.
I own a 2004 Dodge Durango SLT with a Hemi engine. I really like the SUV’s sleek appearance. However, the fiberglass body and bumper are easily dented and dinged. I like cars that I can fix up and personalize, setting them apart from the rest, and my Dodge Durango allows me to do just that. I can add a body kit, fender vents, bra, rain shields, spoiler, etc. to set my Durango apart from the rest. My Durango is very comfortable with its cloth seats. I hate leather seats because leather is so cold and impersonal. Externally, my Durango is not too big and it’s not too small, it’s just right for my taste. On the inside, I love that my Durango has a third row. I have three children that do not like to touch each other in the car, so the third row is definitely a plus for me. However, the trunk space is very narrow unless I let down the third row. I do like how my Durango has a secret compartment underneath the trunk where I can store my personal belongings, such as my purse or laptop. I am definitely not satisfied with the gas mileage of my Durango. I find myself paying at least $50 a week in gas just to take the kids back and forth to school. I know this might not sound like much to a working person, but I am a homemaker. I am, however, grateful for the reasonable repair costs. Since I bought my Durango used, of course it was going to need some repairs. But I receive free oil changes for life from my local Dodge dealership even though I purchased the vehicle from a police auction and not the Dodge dealership. My Dodge Durango is quite fun to drive as long as it’s not raining. No matter how slow I drive in the rain, I always get pulled to one side of the road by standing water, while it seems as though other cars race by me with no problems. Since my Durango has a Hemi engine, it accelerates like a race car. My family almost got whiplash a several times upon me taking off from a stopped position. The handling and control of the vehicle took some getting used to. Now I’m a pro at maneuvering around objects and through tight spaces.

The truck performed well when we first got it but it has definitely had its issues over the years. For a while the truck would randomly cut off while I was driving. I was on the highway once luckily nearing an exit and the truck randomly cut off. Another issue we had was that the steering wheel was off. I was trying to teach my daughter how to drive and had to be extra cautious because the truck wasn’t 100%. I do believe the truck is a good quality though. It is very durable and somewhat reliable. Many storms that are tough for people to drive through, I have made it home safely with the Durango. Because it sits up high and has nice strong tires, it makes it easier to travel through rain and puddles. The engine is great too, the truck picks up speed very nicely. I always make it to my events on time and safely thanks to my truck.
