Buick did a great job with this vehicle. I bought it in the early 2000s from an older retired couple that pretty much drove it to the store and back. So it was almost ten when I purchased it.
For a car that's almost 20 years old, it runs like I bought it yesterday. All I'm looking for in a car is something reliable that will get me where I'm going safely. Gas mileage is a plus, it gets about 21 hwy and 17 surface street driving, which is actually better than my husband's 2010 V6 Mustang,
As for safety, I truly believe this is the safest car I've ever driven, I say that because I nearly totaled it when someone in a 90s model Suburban turned in front of me as I was doing 45mph through an intersection. For whatever reason, the other driver admitted to not seeing me. I never hit my brakes. My front end was crumpled shut, and I'd managed to take the Suburban off three of his tires. Once the police report was finished, my car cranked beautifully, I drove the rest of the way to work and still managed to be on time.
When I took it to the dealer, and after he pried the hood open with a crowbar, I couldn't believe it, but nothing under the hood had been damaged. It was about $2000 worth of damage, all cosmetic.

Really great vehicle
This car has a great build. It is very durable and has stood up to lots of challenges with me as owner. I have had this car for 4 years and I have an 8 year old son. So going back and forth to sports is very common for us. This car has withstood being hit by balls and banged by bats. The exterior has went through all this with minimum dings in the body. I have also had an accident in this car where I rear-ended someone. The other car was totaled but my car has very little damage. The body on it is very good. As for under the hood I have not had to do much work to this car other than normal wear and tear on a vehicle. I drive the car back and forth to college and to take my son back n forth to school and to sporting events. So it gets lots of mileage on it. I really love this car and would not trade it for another.

Great sporty first kid car.
I think my Buick Regal '99 Grand Sport was a great first car and I still have it into my adult career. I bought it when I was 15 and it had around 75k miles on it, and I imagine that it has close to 300k on it now after owning it for almost 10 years coming up. The integrity of this car has been amazing, the only main mechanical thing to go out was the super charger belt to go out due to it being so cold and snapped. Otherwise this thing is still running like it was brand new. The other things inside the car are slowly starting to give out, examples being my heater, power windows, inside trim falling off, the lights in my dash going out just to name a few things. But outside of the minor stuff that has gone out with the car it has been a great first car and have put very little into fixing it.
