Great family car that was probably much better new.
I like the size and style of the Mazda MPV. My family fit very well in it. The third row seating came in handy many times. The cargo space was great for hauling sports gear and camping equipment. It was never easy for me to transform the back from seating to cargo space. The headrests had to be removed, and they didn't come out easily. There were two different handles to pull to get the seat to fold over then drop down into the space. I can't even remember exactly what it took to put the seats back up. The seats were very comfortable. Some of the most comfortable car seats I can remember. The visibility was good with lots of big windows. The MPV was used when we got it and needed catch-up maintenance, including power steering flush, transmission flush, alignment, windshield wipers. Not long after we got it the alternator needed to be replaced. There was a problem with the electrical system causing fuses to blow and systems (radio, power locks, charger) to stop working. I wonder if I would have enjoyed it more if it had been better maintained before we got it. I still liked it a lot.

Understated reliability.
This vehicle has been working almost perfectly for around 5 years for me now. Even though I purchased this car used, it ended up being extremely reliable in the long run. Despite this reliability, there are some aspects of this car that are less than optimal. For example, the MPG is not even close to the best in class, and this not only increases gas costs, but also leads to further environmental harm. The looks of this car are very generic and plain, especially in the silver colored model that I own. Even though it is fairly spacious inside, it's inconspicuous design and coloration make it seem less interesting from the outside. The included audio system was definitely one of the weakest parts of the car. After a few years, I decided to simply replace the sound system with an aftermarket solution, with great results. The experience of driving the car is acceptable. With no other experience driving other cars, I can't really make a good comparison, but I believe that this car will suit the needs of most average drivers.

Mazda MPV- a great dependable, roomy van
This van is great for road trips, with its wide front windshield and large storage capacity in the back. With the back seats taken out, you can store bikes, camping gear, coolers and even a mattress for sleeping. It's comfy and easy to drive as long as you take care of it and give it regular maintenance.
