It is not a very fast car. The interior is small and cramped. There is little trunk space. Fortunately this is a convertible and the top can be dropped as long as it is not raining to eliminate claustrophobia. The car seems unsafe, my gramma got in a fender bender in it and her arm was broken.
Overall it has held together mildly well for such an old car. The transmission is finally going out on it. The convertible soft top has a few minor leaks when it is raining. A lot has been replaced under the hood like sensors, fuel filters, etc.

A reasonable sort of fun.
Over all, the Mazda Miata is not the flashiest car in the world, but it offers a fun ride for people who want a reliable vehicle with a flashier look. It's compactness might be a deal breaker for anyone who needs some storage space, but in that same way it can appeal to those who are looking for a generally sporty looking car. Despite it's sporty look, it's not a particularly fast car, but it does handle very well. As a result it has become a go to for track racing, with it's ability to handle and compact size lending itself to great performance in those aspects.

Cheap, impractical.
The 1993 Mazda Miata is one of the best ways that you can spend under $5,000 yet still have a driving experience entirely incomparable to in the automotive world. The Miata is one of the best ways to experience a wholly no frills driving experience, leaving nothing between you and the four wheels but a steering rack, motor and a transmission. This car is perfect as well for enthusiasts who love to tinker with their own vehicles as it's cheap costs to both purchase and buy new parts as well as simple build and design lend well to modification and repair.
