2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

It's durable and rich.
Well, I have the Ford F250 super duty power stroke. The exterior of my truck is white with a plastic white bumper and a chrome bumper. As far as it goes me liking or loving the truck, it will have to do. The transmission went out on it so had to get the tranny rebuilt on...just six months ago. Then, I needed to repair the cables that attached to the batteries replaced because sometimes in mid-drive, the truck would just die. I'm not sure what that did to the engine since it is a diesel engine. You are supposed to wait to start. In the middle of the street, I would have to turn it on right away and not wait to start. The truck came with a stock radio, and the A/C works great! It's impressive the amount of mileage that can be put on this truck, and it keeps on going...that I like. I have the crew cab -- I think it's called. The one that has four doors but you can only open them if the driver or passenger door are open first. I loved that feature until one of the doors broke -- now I have 3/4 of the doors working. I'm not trying to come off as a complainer, but the fuel that truck takes is unbelievable! It's like I get 10 miles to the gallon on this truck. It has new filters and a recent oil change done to it hoping that would increase mileage, but so far, that turned out to bother a pipe dream. The inside plastic trim came off and won't go back on. This is a truck for a person who doesn't mind doing maintenance on their truck every few months.

The best diesel engine ever made.
This is by far the most reliable and longest lasting truck Ford has ever made. It is also not only the best diesel engine Ford has ever made, but quite possibly the best diesel engine ANY company has ever made. I've put almost 415,000 miles on my 2001 F-250's 7.3L turbo diesel engine and it's never failed me. Even after 20 years and over 400,000 miles it will still run all day, run all night, and haul anything you want to haul. I also strongly prefer the body style of the older diesel trucks compared to the blockier style of today's diesel trucks. This is the only truck I've ever owned and I don't see myself getting a new one any time in the foreseeable future. I bought this truck from my dad, who bought it new back in 2001, when I turned 16 years old and I have personally driven it for over 10 years. No one else will ever own that truck. When it's time comes, I won't be selling it, trading it in, or scrapping it for parts. This truck has earned the right to retire underneath a tall oak tree out at the ranch with a view of a thousand Texas sunsets where it can rust in peace.
