Bought the car new, and it has been awesome. Perfect for getting around town. It looks small on the outside but does not feel like a small car when driving it. Driver sits pretty high up for a small car, and even though it is small, it is comfortable for road trips. Gas mileage is fantastic...I consistently get 30-35 mpg without trying. Handles well in the snow. Mitsubishis new car warranty (5 year/60k mile) means that it has been 100% trouble-free and has only needed routine maintenance oil changes and the like every few months. From a purely cosmetic standpoint, the 2014 model year offered several unusual colors. The option of a bright color on this small car is great—you are very visible in traffic. The last car I had was a color that "blended in," and I had a lot of near-misses because other drivers just didn't see me. Not so in a bright green Mirage...they can see me coming from a long ways away! If you are looking for a budget-friendly daily driver, this is a great choice!

I bought a Mitsubishi Mirage vehicle primarily because it was an affordable new car I could finance for my wife that had great gas mileage (it gets approximately 40 mpg) and some cool custom features that could be added on. The custom features we added from the standard package that my wife really liked were a back-up camera, parking sensors, and GPS system. It was one of the few smaller footprint (without going electric) vehicles that was a five seater, as well as that it actually fit a big guy like me (I'm 6 foot 2 inches, and weigh approx. 330 pounds). However, I fit but not very comfortably. And even for my two daughter's car seats in the back, it feels very crammed very quickly. The trunk space is minimal which one would expect for a compact car. But once you're using it everyday, it gets frustrating becoming a magician to make groceries and purchases fit for the drive home as a routine task. Also when we lived in California, where we purchased it from, getting the car serviced wasn't a big deal. But now not living in a big city area, it's more difficult finding good service as Mitsubishi is more of a fringe entity by comparison with more mainstream car brands. And my biggest issue is the lack of power with the car (only 150 max horsepower). It makes it very difficult climbing hills and passing other vehicles. The gas mileage is a great feature, and it does have some cool perks, but realistically, because of the lack of real "get up and go," this isn't a car I would recommend personally.
