2010 Volkswagen Routan OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

Routan is a great family minivan.
I really like my Routan. It has been a great minivan for our family over the past couple of years. There is plenty of room for my kids and their stuff, as well as friends or relatives we are bringing with us. The fact that is based on the same body and interior style as the Chrysler Town & Country, and Dodge Grand Caravan means that it has been easy to service and plenty of parts are available if needed. I love that it comes with more standard, upscale upgrades than the Chrysler or Dodge vans, including a rear back up camera and a dual screen DVD player that can play two different movies at once. It has over 90k miles on it and has only needed routine maintenance so far, other than one sensor that went bad causing the check engine light to come on. The back seat is not super comfortable for an adult, but the kids seem to like it just fine. There is plenty of room in the trunk, and the backseats fold flat easily to make for plenty of cargo space if needed. My biggest complaint is that it does not get very good gas mileage, but it does have a large gas tank so the time between fill-ups is ok.

A Volkswagen Flop
This minivan is basically a Chrysler minivan with a Volkswagen logo on it. They did not tell us that when we bought it. In terms of the interior, it is a nice van, leather seats, two screen DVD player, navigation, rear view camera. Inside it is a nice van. If you have children you cannot beat the entertainment system, the storage space, and the sheer size of this vehicle. However, the car has had more mechanical and structural problems than I can remember. The engine light has yielded two costly engine repairs. At 85K miles, it has had two sets of brakes and rotors, a suspension repair, and other costly fixes.
