Overall, a well-built vehicle with a very reliable engine and transmission combination. This vehicle is approaching 300K miles and is a daily driver. The car is still a low-maintenance vehicle and very reliable. The exterior is original factory paint and is still in excellent shape. The engine and the transmission are also original.

The Volvo 850 GLT Wagon is a great car. We bought it used when it was four years old. It has given us fourteen good years of a strong car. The square shape may not fit in with the popular sleeker styles of today but we love the looks and the shape. It has over 160,000 miles on it and seems to have many more left in it. The Swedish design of these older Volvos is wonderful. They really made a quality vehicle. The style, the engine, the parts, the body, the performance are all good. We have driven it on long road trips and it is a daily driver now so it knows many roads. Nothing but the air conditioner evaporator has failed prematurely in these 18 years. The mileage rate is as it was described originally which back in 1996, 20-26 MPG was good. Because it is a wagon, the ride is a bit rougher than a sedan would be. Overall, the car is better than we could have asked for and thankful that we found it.

The 1996 Volvo 850 GLT is part of a solid line of vehicles that was manufactured from 91-96. It was a fantastic platform that was extremely reliable. It was among the best vehicles I've ever owned.
