Listen to traffic reports because there are often times when big chemical trucks traveling to and from refineries have accidents and completely shut down roads.
Get something rugged and durable, as many of the road are rough because of all the heavy trucks.
My favorite memory driving is driving over the Fred Hartman Bridge to connect to 225 to Pasadena. I saw the sun gleaming off the cables spanning the huge bridge at sunset, glistening with a golden sparkle. It was very beautiful and awesome.
Highway 225. The traffic flows very fast and is wide open most of the time.

Check the dealers on Spencer Hwy. They usually have the best deals for used cars.
Driving in early spring with the windows down, near the ocean is my favorite time to drive.
Fairmont. The area is open, fairly scenic, cows and horses.
