Useful. Reliable. Fun to drive.
The Chevrolet Silverado is, first and foremost, a pick-up truck. That being said, you have to accept the fact that the gas mileage is not going to be ideal for long trips. If you're just looking for a city commuter, it's probably not the car for you unless you don't care how much you spend on gas. However, the vehicle is unrivaled in its utility. Tons of storage space in the bed, great for work or play. I can't tell you how many times this has been a godsend when moving. The bed is big enough to fit a queen size mattress comfortable. However, it's also small enough to be able to maneuver fairly readily. The turn radius is not awesome; again, it's a pickup. If you live anywhere where conditions get rough i.e. snow, sleet, mud, etc., this is an excellent vehicle to own. I lived in a very snow heavy state for many years and never had trouble. Since the bed is lighter than the front, if you're not careful you will get some fish tailing on icy roads. For the most part, though, it handles excellently in rain, sleet, snow, whatever. Great for off-roading, can make it up back mountain road hills without any struggle. The cab could be bigger. Sometimes it's a pain to squeeze people into. Technically you can fit five, but it's really a squeeze and not very comfortable for the passengers. I haven't had any problems with interior rattles. However, after ten years, the seals on the windows aren't as tight as they used to be, which makes for a lot of noise when traveling at high speeds on the highway. Chevy brakes are inherently squeaky after a while.

Good quality truck
I purchased my truck brand new in 2005. It had 9 miles on it and was the second time I bought a truck new. It is an extended cab, I love the space and the way the back doors open up wide to access the back. I have put over 100,000 miles on it and haven't had any major problems. There is plenty of power from the engine and I am very happy with its performance. I love the 2-tone paint and the leather interior. If something spills on the seats it is easily cleaned up, unlike cloth seats. There are a couple relatively small problems that have come up. The headliner isn't wrapped all the way around on the edges and now it is starting to peel off and sag near the doors. The air conditioner has a problem that was known by the manufacturer where the highest setting overheats the switch and melts the connection. I was a bit upset about this particular problem because it was known for a long time and by the time the manufacturer decided to correct the problem, my truck was too old to be fixed. Another small problem I have is with the controls for the headlights and interior lights. The gauge lights will sometimes go to their brightest level at night and the control panel doesn't dim it. The last thing I have problems with is the paint. It seems to be a pretty common issue where the paint on the roof and hood fades and starts to peel.

Reliable and durable.
The reason I love my Silverado is because of its durability, which is just one of its many great aspects. I've had the car for about 6 years and to this day it stills runs smoothly. Even after a car hit it from the side. It caused a small dent, but no damage to the engine. The inside is comfortable and is bigger than it looks from the outside (because it is an extended cab). The "trunk" really is big and allows me to place my upholstery tools and fabric inside without causing it damage because of the openings it has in order to hook harnesses onto them. As well as how it looks, its not so bad looking.. it isn't the best looking truck on the road but it gets me from point A to point B. Although, it does eat at your wallet because it has a bigger engine and it takes up more gas and will unfortunately use it faster. Another thing I'm not a fan of is the technology, although I can't complain considering the year I bought it. One last thing I am not a fan of is because it's an extended cab means the turn radius is pretty bad.. One may have to turn somewhat widely and sharp turns are almost always out of the question.
