Just one tip? There are so many problems with the drivers here it boils down to this: Stop trying to kill each other. I'm amazed I haven't died or been in an accident even after living here for several years. No one signals, people cut each other off constantly and I doubt most people here understand that they need to check their blind spot.

Research, do lots of research. Most dealers will put their cars up on several websites make sure the information doesn't contradict. I typically use Auto trader as well as a couple of others. If it seems like a sketchy deal it probably is. Craigslist tends to be rather sketchy.

A couple of years ago there was construction on a major road in my town. This was the road I typically used to get to the grocery store. Alas, this caused traffic to be even worse on this already infamous road. I had to make a left turn across it in order to get to the store and at the time it seemed hopeless. After a short time one driver stopped so I could get across. I'm aware that I should not accept this kindness as it can get people killed if other drivers do not expect you to cross the road but thankfully every driver in all the lanes stopped so I could cross. I was overwhelmed and surprised by the communal kindness.

John Ben Shepard Parkway Boulevard .. It's hilariously long, the name that is. It usually gets shortened to JBS or just Parkway. However, the one time I did see the entire name on a sign it was so long it actually bent and broke. Aside from that there is a rather scenic part after an overpass. Very briefly I fee like I'm on a ride through some suburbs.

I would tell people not to go driving in this city in a hurry, because traffic can get very congested. It also stays crowded because of the college and so many other attractions A driver who doesn't know the town, would do well to have something like GPS handy, because there are some parts of the city that take winding turn, which will confuse some new comers.

There are so many car dealerships, that you can basically just take your pick. One particular road has car dealerships lining the entire stretch of road. You can start in one dealership and end up into another in a short time. If you save up your money, you can buy a car in this town regardless of credit history.

My favorite memory from driving in this city is the scenic views including the parks. The streets are named and numbered in such a way that one can find anything from the loop. You need only to find the right name or number of the street that you are seeking, and turn off on that exit. There are lots of pretty trees lining many of the streets. Also I remember driving in Midland when I first got married and when I was pregnant with my first child. Those were nerve wracking times but they now bring back great memories. I enjoyed getting to drive to my husband's job to go see him on days when I wasn't in school or at work.

Garfield. I like Garfield, because it passes the college that I used to attend. Also, from Garfield, you can get to many, many stores and other types of businesses. The college campus is very pretty, making it a nice, scenic drive.
