Having the bigger engine is great for pickup and driving in the mountains of North Carolina. Having all the power features at that time made for great, long vacation travel.

Nice ride and reliable
One of my favorite vehicles that I have ever owned was my Ford Windstar. I had this van for 3 years and I never put anything into it except brake pads due to using it for delivering papers. That's how reliable this vehicle is. I had over a dozen paper routes and believe me, this van held up to the challenge. All the stops and starts, all the heavy loads, didn't matter, this van was a real trooper. I drove through all the elements and particularly heavy snow in the winter time. I never experienced any problem whatsoever. It always started, even in sub-zero weather. It was a pretty blue color that sparkled when the sun shined on it. It had enough room in it to fit my entire family and their kids too! We took this van on many camping trips. Great to pack it up in. So spacious, you could sleep in it. There really wasn't much I didn't like. The only complaint would be the cost of gas. It was a large size vehicle so it did consume a great deal of gas. Other than that though, it was definitely one of my all time favorites and I wish I hadn't traded it in for my new car. I really miss it now. Great for moving and picking up large items at the store!
