Made of Plastic
I bought my Kia Rio used for around $4,000. Initially, I liked it very much. It was clean, it was compact, and it was affordable. It was smart looking. The one thing I liked about it was that it got great gas mileage, around thirty-four miles to the gallon. I made a nine hundred mile trip and only spent about $90 on gas. It still does get great gas mileage, which is the one and only thing I like about this car. I have had so many problems with this car I don't know where to begin. The biggest issue for me has been the timing belt. If you aren't made aware, your timing belt will destroy your engine. It needs to be checked every 40,000 miles. I wasn't made aware. One day, as I was parked thirty some miles from home, I tried to start my car, and it wouldn't start. My dad came to jump me, but it didn't work. My engine was completely destroyed, so I had the car towed to a Kia dealership. The Kia dealership charged me $2,000 for a new engine out of another used Rio. Another issue is the heating and air conditioning. Within a couple years of purchasing, it stopped functioning, so I had it fixed. Shortly thereafter it stopped functioning again. Currently my check engine light is always on, but I don't know exactly what the problem is. The car stutters when it's in overdrive (and it automatically starts out in overdrive). The company also did a recall on the car for the passenger's side airbag.

Great, sturdy car- would recommend
This is a fantastic starter car that I would highly recommend to anyone. The exterior of the vehicle is highly durable with wheels and a frame that can plow through Michigan snow as good as a truck. The interior of the vehicle is black and gray and hides dirt and stains well. This is a small car perfect for navigating heavy traffic, but not too light that it feels unsafe on the road. I would recommend the 2006 Kia Rio to anyone looking for a simple, small vehicle.
