Excellent Mileage
The 2008 Kia Spectra is an excellent car.
The build is sturdy, and received only a few dings during a massive hailstorm--impressive! The paint has kept its color and vibrancy, and the top coat is as shiny as the day I drove it off the lot. The headlights are still clear, as well.
The heat and ac have never failed to produce toasty warmth and icy cold. There is plenty of legroom in the back, as well as a generous trunk for a regular grocery run or a family vacation to the beach. The bucket seats in the front are gently curved to hug the bottom, and the driver's seat boasts several adjustments, so that one is in the perfect position to see over the dashboard.
The windows and side mirrors are automatic, and the stereo boasts radio, CD and auxiliary options.
Over 100,000 miles have been put on this car with nothing but routine maintenance. It gets an average of 38 mpg highway. It is an excellent commuter car. We have had to replace headlights occasionally and the battery once. The windshield was also replaced when a rock cracked it on the highway.
My only complaint with the car is the driver's side power window panel seems to be on the fritz lately...Windows will roll down but not back up, just with this panel. All other panels are fine. Everything else is in perfect working order.

Great car
I have had my kea since 2007 and it has been a good little car for me. It gets me where I need to go. It has had a few hiccups but pretty easy to fix. About a 100,000 miles it started acting up. A couple of my handles broke off but that was taken care of. The back lights seem to have a loose connection so I had to get that fixed. It might just be from the heat but the mirror in the driver side just fell down one day. Had to get some glue and put it back in there. I have not had any problems with the engine but the a/c did give me trouble. A thermostat sensor went out and for a little piece of the car, It was expensive to replace. The transmission has run like a champ. No comments about that. I do like that is a small car and pretty easy to turn and park in tight spots. I love the bright blue color. There is only one another like it in my town.

A real workhorse of a vehicle
I purchased this vehicle used more than six years ago, and it's done very well for my family. The vehicle was originally purchased as a family vehicle. It's been used to commute nearly two hours per day. With the exception of one mechanical issue (blown head gasket), the vehicle has only required routine maintenance. In spite of its age, it gets great gas mileage. The Kia runs very smoothly, and has impressive power. The body of the car has held up well with no rust. There has been some minor issue with the check engine light coming on. However, that is simply due to a gas cap issue, and a small flaw in the way the threads are. A replacement cap from a Kia dealership fixed the issue. There's a reasonable amount of leg room for all passengers. A/C runs cold. The local Kia dealership is great about servicing the vehicle quickly. There is a slight shimmy over 70 mph. But a mechanic says it isn't an issue. Another concern is that the car sits a bit low to the ground, so it tends to 'bottom out' going up our driveway.
