2015 Volkswagen Jetta OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS

We really enjoy it
I really enjoy our VW Jetta - it's sporty, compact, comfortable and seems to be incredibly safe. I really love it because it comes with memories of the first car that my husband and I purchased together. It has been able to safely transport family members in a mostly comfortable setting. I particularly enjoy special features that I've never had before in a car: the touch sensitive door locks, the push-button ignition start, the GPS system (though we hardly use it; it doesn't take into account traffic and when we were first using it, it got us into a lot of unnecessary traffic jams - we have since only used Google Maps for this specific reason) and the SiriusXM satellite radio. As for performance, it has performed well in the past two years that we have owned it. We put a lot of miles on it (over 40,000 miles at this point in time) and we have yet to encounter any unwanted problems. I really and truly have more positive things to say abut the car than negative ones as my husband and I have been quite happy with the vehicle. We plan to keep it for a while, until we decide to upgrade to another vehicle down the road.

I am very happy with this car
Some of the things I like about the Jetta are: The way that you sit in the cockpit, the way you see the road while driving puts you in a position to feel and see the road much better than other cars. The pep of the engine is very good, has good acceleration when you are trying to maneuver across lanes quickly. I love the classy look of the dashboard, very simple and elegantly understated. What a surprise the very first time I drove it at night and it had red lights on the dashboard, looked very nice and I think the dash is even more appealing at night. The fuel mileage is outstanding. I put lots of miles on my vehicles and the fuel economy has already started to pay off. The car is a diesel and the engine noise is not what you would expect, it is a very quiet engine. I love the exterior lines, very good styling but not over done. The trunk compartment is very generous. It has enough room for the baggage of four people for a long time easily. I travel with my two sons quite often and am very happy for the roominess of the back seat, it keeps them far enough away from each other to prevent them from fighting. The car feels like it is built very well. The body feels strong with no rattling, the suspension is great, it takes on bad roads very well.
The things that I dislike about the car are: There is no drink holders in the back seat. I also would like the car to have at least some gauges, there is no engine temp, or oil gauges. I wasn't aware that it takes DEF fluid so that takes away from some of the fuel mileage savings. I do not like the fact that you have to get your oil changed at the dealership or get prior approval to take somewhere else to not void your warranty. I was very upset to find out that it did not have a full size spare. We were looking at a used one first and it had a full size spare and the salesman led us to believe the new model did too, but it did not. The biggest con is that now they have found out about the emissions scandal and I'm not sure how much my fuel economy will decrease if they fix it.
Overall this is a great car, I would definitely recommend this car but would like to see what the mileage will be after the government makes them change them.

Decent car
I am a diehard Audi fan. I absolutely love them. Recently, I decided to try VW for a change. Although it is certainly not as nice as an Audi (price difference would explain this), it is a nice little car. There are definitely less "luxury features" in this car but the construction feels solid. The performance, compared to my Audi is lacking; however, compared to other cars in its class, I would consider it to be above average in the performance category. The looks from the outside are good for the price point. The gas mileage is amazing. I do not have to fill up as frequently as I did with Audi. I'm not sure whether that is because of the efficiency of the car or because it is less fun to drive the car as fast as the Audi (which burns a lot of gas). Either way, it is a good car. There are a few problems with the car for shorter women. When the seat is close enough to reach the pedals, you end up really close to the wheel. Additionally, when I am close enough to drive, the location of the controls and mirrors do not seem to be in a natural position for me.
