To not worry about going a little over the posted speed limit. Most people do 5 miles per hour above anyway. But never go above 5 miles per hour over the speed limit.
There are a stretch of dealerships along Beach Blvd. They have almost all the brands you can look for. Just drive down from Edinger to the PCH for a wide selection. Remember to have your choices in hand, as you can get many brands.
I love driving along the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. The ocean is visible and you can put your window down and have the sea breeze fill the car. It is great when there is little traffic since the speed limit for a stretch of the highway is over 60mph, a nice cruising speed. There is also a distance between traffic lights for a couple of miles. I especially remember one day when the ocean was blue and the sky clear. I listened to some of my favorite music while I drove down the highway. It felt absolutely amazing and is my favorite memory of driving in this city.
Pacific Coast Highway. The road is open and fast flowing in a certain stretch, the ocean is right next to it. It is an amazing atmosphere to drive in.

Relax. You're not on the 405. Be courteous of other drivers, and you should be fine. Understand there are schools and parks around, and plenty of stop lights. You'll get where you need to go, so just slow down and enjoy driving in one of the coolest cities in Orange County and probably the country.
Nothing is cheap in the O.C. Even when looking at certified used cars, you're not gonna find a steal. But if you look long and hard enough, you can find a reasonable deal. Be happy with that.
My favorite memory from driving in Huntington Beach is cruising down by the pier, glancing out the window at the beach on the right and Main Street USA on the left, rife with its surf shops and trendy cafes. Awesome environment all around.
Beach Boulevard. I love driving on beach, if I'm not in a hurry, because literally everything you need is on it. Target, Wal-Mart, plenty of other shopping, tons of restaurants, and every type of store imaginable. Tons of gas and fast food, etc. Sure, it's always busy, but it maintains the laid-back SoCal aura.
