Chevy Awesome!
Buying this truck was the best vehicle purchase I have ever made. I bought it new in 2002. I once owned a Toyota, and we all know how people brag about Hondas and Toyotas. Although the Toyota truck was good to me, it did not last near as long as my Silverado. I have kept up to date on the maintenances, oil changes, brake maintenance, transmission, belts, everything. The truck keeps on going. The poor truck has had a tree fall on it and a few people have rear ended me, but she keeps on keeping on. The truck currently has 176,000 miles on it and is 15 years old. Every time I think about buying another vehicle, I just weigh the costs and keep driving the truck. Currently, I'm thinking I may drive 'til I have over 200,000 just to see if the truck will keep going. It looks like new on the inside, but sadly, it is getting that awful rust over the tires just like every truck out there. A couple of years ago I spend about $3,500 on it. It was pretty much the usual parts that wear out - brakes, fuel pump, water pump, etc. $900 of it was for new Michelin tires. Since I planned on driving it to 200,000 miles, I figured I would have 60,000 Michelins put on it. I'm pretty sure my next vehicle is going to be another Chevy. Go, Chevy!

My Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 has satisfied all of my needs. The qualities of the vehicle are easily apparent. Firstly, the overall appearance of the vehicle is great, since this particular year model (2002) still has the older body which is rugged and yet refined. The very next year the body was altered to a different design which many found less desirable. It also has the Z-71 package which has been great for going down rural roads and trails for hunting. The interior is has nice appeal given the bucket seats and center console which can be adjusted for an additional passenger and also provides an easily accessible storage unit. Also, the seats are extremely comfortable as they are plush and are designed to cradle your body. All electrical components have worked great without any complications. Also, the interior is pleasing to the eyes with the it's overall sleek design. The instrument panel is very attractive and functional. Lastly, the best thing about this vehicle is it's ability to shift to four-wheel drive without doing anything more than shifting on the floor. This Z-71 4x4 is excellent in muddy conditions and has yet to fail as a superior conqueror of any muddy situation. Overall, this vehicle has satisfied almost any desire I have for a pick-up truck.

Reliable truck to withstand a beating.
My Chevy Silverado 1500 was a pretty impractical buy for me at the time I drove it off the lot. I was a recent college graduate in Information Technology working his first full-time job. This truck was an instant gratification buy. I was young, had money, and thought it would be fun to drive such a large vehicle. The truck was two years old, used and had under 20,000 miles on it. The feeling of getting up in the driver's seat was something I've never before felt. You sit up high and feel like you have good power behind you. It was this sense of power and safety while standing out that I really liked. It came with some bells and whistles such as extra towing power, cruise control, electronic moving seats, and electronic gauges that showed your average miles per gallon among other things. This truck was a half cab and allowed me to still pile in the friends for a road trip or to go camping. I especially liked the fact that all four windows went down fully. Another great feature was that it offered a fair amount of space inside even thought the bed of the truck had plenty of room. I have driven this truck in a city environment as well as the back country. It has withstood the passage of time even though I was always a responsible owner. A large complaint that I have had is that all the tires I have bought seem to wear down rather quickly causing multiple replacements. I also had to repair a fuel pump fairly early even though the miles were still low. The seats in the back are able to fold up, and this was really helpful when I'd rather transport my road bike inside the cab instead of the bike rack I had installed in the bed. Also, the cab doors swung a full 180 degrees! This was invaluable when putting something as big as a road bike in the back. I will say that the eco-drive feature does not seem to be as good as they make it out to be. At best I averaged 16 miles per gallon but was probably more likely around 14 miles per gallon. This was not practical for my long haul to work everyday.
