Excellent Towing Capability
I love this truck. It has pulled numerous heavy loads, and you can't even feel the load!

Awesome Work Horse
This truck is a work horse! It has no problems hauling heavy loads and it’s at 250,000 miles. The flat bed that is on it makes for easy access on our ranch for hauling hay, straw, or just throwing equipment in the back. The transmission has never had a problem when shifting while traveling up canyons or down the interstate. The engine has never overheated and has always worked great. We love the fact that it is dependable - it can handle hauling a fully loaded horse trailer in any terrain, and it gets great diesel mileage.
There are only a few things we dislike about the truck. A lot of continual maintenance is necessary. We have had this truck for one year and we have had to replace the fuel filter twice, rotate the tires three times because of the way it was wearing, and we had to replace all of the joints in the drive line twice in one year (approximately every 10,000 miles). In one year, we also had to replace the ball joints, brakes, rotors, and a few other minor parts.

Dependable, powerful & sturdy.
From 19 miles on the odometer when I bought the truck, to 330,000+ miles today, it has been the most dependable truck. I've replaced several things as to be expected on a truck of this age and with this many miles, but it has continued to perform well. The mileage is good for a diesel truck, towing upwards of 16,000 pounds on a regular basis, and averages 13 mpg towing. There is more than enough power to tow the large horse trailer, full of horses for miles and miles up and down the highways. I will say that it did have the expected Chevy transfer case replacement at approx. 130,000 miles, and the fuse box under the hood is not designed to support the amount of running lights trailers are equipped with. The wires melted, and fuse box started on fire. Had to replace fuse box and substitute heavier gauge wire to prevent future issues. It seems common in the dually that rear wheel seal issues are seen. After years of replacing rear wheel seals, the rear end needed to be replaced in the truck. Upon replacing almost 100,000 miles ago, there has been no leaking seal issues again. These trucks have plenty of head room, which is a concern for taller people, and they ride just like a light duty truck.
