Excellent Buy!!!
I love this car!!! It is roomy without completely taking over your garage. It has a really smooth ride. It seats 5 comfortably, with enough room in the cargo area for all your toys. The Escape has the option to turn into a manual which I like, because I want to feel like I am in control when I drive. I also like how high it sits, because when I come out of the gym I just slide right in and my aching muscles appreciate that a lot. It is also the perfect height for drive thru's. No longer do I have to stretch and reach to get my food, or take off my seat belt. I also like the display, it is a really neat electric blue. The back up camera was a necessity for me and I love it. The issues I have had so far include that the back seats are not that comfortable for long drives. Also when you turn on the switch for interior lights when the doors open, you cannot tell if it is activated until you open your doors. The gas mileage is not as good as I'd like it especially when you run the air conditioner.

Ford or not to Ford?
Overall, I think that the vehicle is well built with good quality. I do not like how there were recalls on parts that affected the overall safety of the vehicle when it was purchased brand now. There are older models of ford escapes, and I am not sure if there were problems similar to those I had with my model. I had my passenger side doors fly open while I was driving to work, and I had to get the latches replaced on all four doors on the vehicle. I also had an urgent recall and had to have my entire fuel pump system replaced. My panel on the inside of my door came loose six months after the latches were replaced, and I had to go back to the dealership to have another panel placed on because it was out of warranty coverage. Despite all of the issues I have had with this vehicle, I have to say it is reliable. I have never been stranded or have had the engine stall. I have been on long road trips and felt completely safe. It drives well, and it is quiet on the inside of the cab when operating it. It handles well in storms and high winds. I like to thrift and dumpster dive, and I like the fact that the back seats let down so that I can load old furniture and clothes in the back to take home.

Great Car, with a few issues.
I've had this car for about a year (just over a year) and I love it. The engine is very responsive, especially in the sport mode. I almost always drive in the sport mode as it provides more control to the car, and greater gas mileage. I average about 24MPG on any day. The sound system is great, providing amazing clarity and bass (which I have an affinity for). The only thing I really dislike about the car is the software. There is no live MPG gauge like in a Prius, or other new cars, and there is no way to set Bluetooth as the default media option. Every time I get in the car I have to hit the voice button and say Bluetooth audio. Also, the screen doesn't show song information when playing via Bluetooth audio. The back-up camera is standard and is great in the summer, but is completely useless in snowy or muddy weather due to its location just above the license plate. The rear windshield wiper is very frustrating in the winter as it is located on the bottom of the windshield and gets an ice build up very easily, and is very hard to clear the ice off as the wiper doesn't move more than an inch or two away from the windshield. Also the rear wiper fluid tends to take about 15 seconds to start spraying after pressing the button. Other than that the car is great, awesome handling, all wheel drive, etc.
